Julia learned to play violin in school but had not played regularly in 20 years. Mountain Laurel Strings Ensemble gave her a reason to bring her violin out of the closet, make new friends, and enjoy being part of a music group again. Playing music is part of a well-balanced life.
This is the first time he picked up a cello and has been in love with it ever since.
Charlie B.
Charlie started playing the cello in the 4th grade and is now a Junior at Brevard High School. He is dual-enrolled at Brevard College (for music theory with Dr. Cole Hairston).
He plays cello in the High School band (in his 3rd year) and was also a member of the Mountain Laurel Strings Ensemble (for 4 years). He attended the prestigious Cannon Music Camp at Appalachian State University for two summers.
